We are looking for a highly organized Business Analyst to research and document a complex B2B SaaS platform.

You will follow research guidance provided by the Product Manager, analyze an existing system with several hundred interconnected business rules, and turn your findings into clear, reliable PRDs and supporting documentation.

Our engineers use AI-assisted development tools, so the documentation must be explicit, logically organized, and complete enough for development to proceed without guesswork.

This is a research and documentation role. Product strategy, prioritization, project timelines, and development management are owned by the Product Manager and Technical Project Manager.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Conduct thorough research based on guidance and priorities provided by the Product Manager.

• Review the existing application, source documents, tickets, data, and other available materials to determine how the system currently works.

• Interview stakeholders and subject-matter experts when additional information or clarification is needed.

• Reverse engineer and document several hundred business rules, including conditions, exceptions, calculations, dependencies, and rule precedence.

• Document system workflows, data requirements, validations, permissions, integrations, and edge cases.

• Create clear, structured PRDs and supporting materials such as rule catalogs, decision tables, process maps, and data definitions.

• Clearly identify verified facts, source references, assumptions, inconsistencies, decisions, and unresolved questions.

• Maintain a highly organized and current documentation system with consistent naming, formatting, version control, and cross-references.

• Identify gaps or contradictions and bring them to the Product Manager for clarification or a decision.

• Complete research and documentation quickly without sacrificing accuracy, thoroughness, or reliability.

REQUIREMENTS

• Three or more years of experience as a Business Analyst, Systems Analyst, Product Analyst, or in a similar research- and documentation-intensive role

• Experience researching and documenting an existing or poorly documented software system

• Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage a large volume of interconnected information

• Strong documentation skills, with the ability to write requirements that are precise, structured, and easy to follow

• Strong logical reasoning and the ability to understand complex rules, conditions, dependencies, calculations, and exceptions

• Understanding of data integrity principles, including validation, consistency, relationships, lineage, and controlled changes

• Ability to distinguish verified facts from assumptions and maintain clear source traceability

• Strong attention to detail and the ability to work quickly without sacrificing quality

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

• B2B SaaS products with complex workflows or rules engines

• Eligibility, benefits, healthcare, compliance, or application-processing systems

• Preparing PRDs and structured documentation for AI-assisted software development
